Dec. 2018: My daughter loves her Christmas present!
Oct. 4: Finally got around to blocking this. The yarn is fantastic!
Sept 1: Only about 60 more rows to go. I’ve been knitting other things, and so am now going to work in earnest to finish this.
July 22: I added a photo showing Sec. 2 with the beginning of the stripes. I also have an Excel spreadsheet I created and will gladly share it with anyone who asks. It would have been easier to visualize this had the designer added a similar photo in the pattern and/or in the photos posted on Ravelry. I’d also like to thank Debbie, owner of Studio S Fiber Arts in Delavan, Wisconsin where I bought the yarn. She and I spent about 30 minutes working through the transition between Sec. 1 and 2. Bottom line - this is not a difficult pattern; it was made more difficult as the instructions were not very clear. Please feel free to contact me at lflom23@gmail.com if I can be of help with this pattern.
June 30: I got stuck when beginning Sec. 2 as I couldn’t see how the stripes were to be created. With the assistance of my new best friend in New Brunswick, I put together an Excel spreadsheet of the pattern, repeating Sec. 2 twice which shows how the stripes form in relation to the basket weave mosaic pattern. The key is knowing where to place the Marker. Once you get to row 9 in Sec. 2 (you will start that row with 77 sts), and once you’re finished the 10 st repeat, place the marker between stitches #15 and #16, then continue to knit in pattern. On each RS row, follow the pattern, slip the Marker, knit or slip the next stitch, then knit to the end of the row in that color, and always increase (either kfb or kfbf) in the last stitch. Thank you, Lynn, owner of Where the Wildflowers Grow in Perth-Andover, New Brunswick, Canada!
June 24: Just casting on at the Lauderdale Lakes near Elkhorn, Wisconsin. I purchased the pattern and the yarn, but need to finish one other project so I’ll be knitting both at the same time. More to come.
