Who is behind Mairlynd?
I’m Melanie Berg, a designer and knitting enthusiast. Under Mairlynd, I create modern, clean, and everyday-friendly knitting designs. My goal is to make knitting fun, so you can enjoy every project from start to finish.

What products do you offer in your shop?
In my shop, you’ll find knitting patterns, kits, carefully selected yarns and my books. Every product is curated with love, so you can start your project right away.

How can I reach you if I have questions?
You can contact me anytime via the contact form on my website. I’ll get back to you as quickly as possible and am always happy to help!

How are orders shipped?
Digital products (knitting patterns) are delivered directly via a download link by email. Physical products like knitting kits are shipped CO2-neutral and quickly – usually within 2–4 business days in Germany. International shipping times depend on the destination country.

What yarns do you use in your designs?
I work exclusively with high-quality, sustainable yarns. Many of my yarn recommendations come from carefully selected brands that focus on both quality and environmental friendliness.

Can I change or cancel my order?
For digital products, changes or refunds are unfortunately not possible after purchase. For physical products, please contact me as soon as possible if you need to make any changes.

Which payment options are available?
You can pay conveniently in the shop using credit card, PayPal, Klarna, or Sofortüberweisung.

Are there any special offers or discounts?

Why are your knitting designs special?
My designs are characterized by clean lines, modern shapes, and easy-to-follow instructions. I value high-quality yarns and want you to enjoy the entire knitting process – from the first stitch to the finished garment.

Do you offer knitting patterns in multiple languages?
Yes! Most my knitting patterns are available in German and English – so you can choose the language you feel most comfortable with. Some patterns are even available in Spanish, French, Danish, or other languages. You’ll find this information in the product description. If a pattern is only available in English and not in German, you'll also find that in the description.

What skill levels are your patterns suitable for?
Many of my designs are beginner-friendly. You’ll always find the skill level listed in the product description, so you can pick the project that’s just right for you.

How will I receive my knitting pattern?
After your purchase, you’ll receive an email with a download link to get your PDF pattern.

Can I also get the pattern added to my Ravelry library after purchase?
Of course — no problem at all! Just send me a quick message with your Ravelry username, and I’ll be happy to add the pattern to your library.

Can I knit your patterns with different yarn?
Yes – each pattern includes my recommended yarn that works perfectly with the design, but you can use alternatives as long as they match the given gauge.

Do you offer help if I get stuck on a pattern?
Absolutely! You can contact me anytime via the contact form – I’m happy to help. There’s also a Ravelry group where you can get support from me and other knitters.

How can I stay updated on new knitting patterns?

Can I buy finished knitwear based on your patterns?
Currently, I only offer knitting patterns, not finished knitwear. If you’re interested in custom orders, please reach out for special requests.

Can I get a refund for a pattern after purchase?
As digital products, refunds are not possible after download. If you have any issues with an order, please contact me.

Can I use your patterns for commercial purposes?
The patterns are intended for personal use only. If you’d like to commercially sell finished items based on my patterns, please contact me for licensing agreements.

Do you offer knitting kits in multiple languages?
Yes! All knitting kits include patterns in both German and English – so you can choose the language you feel most comfortable with. Some of my kits and patterns are even available in Spanish, French, Danish, or other languages. You’ll find the details in each product description.

Are knitting needles included in the kit?
No – knitting needles are not included, so you can use your own favorite ones.

How do I choose the right size for my knitting kit?
For garments, you’ll find a size chart in the product description. Take your measurements beforehand and choose the size that will fit you best.

What if I run out of yarn while knitting?
No worries – you can order more yarn from my shop as long as it’s still in stock. Just send me a message if you’re unsure which color you had.

Can I give a knitting kit as a gift?
Absolutely! Knitting kits make wonderful gifts for knitters – and I can even send them directly to the lucky recipient if you’d like.

Why do you offer only a small selection of yarn?
I carefully choose every yarn so it perfectly suits my designs and feels wonderful to knit. Quality always comes before quantity – so you can be sure every fiber is just right.

Are the yarns sustainable?
Absolutely! Sustainability is really important to me. I only work with producers who care about fair working conditions and eco-friendly materials, so you can knit with a good conscience.

How do I find the right yarn for my project?
All my patterns and kits clearly state which yarn works best. And if you’re unsure, I’m always happy to give advice – I want you to enjoy your project from start to finish.

Can I buy the yarn separately?
Of course! Some of the yarns are available in the shop so you can create your project exactly the way you imagine it.

Where are addi products made?
addi manufactures 93% of its products in Altena, Germany.
They are the only producer offering a complete knitting range that’s made in Germany – and in Europe.

How can I care for my addi cables?
To keep your cables soft and flexible, soak them in warm steam from time to time and stretch them gently. Dry them well afterwards – they’ll feel just like new!

What’s the best way to clean metal needles?
Simply polish them with a metal polishing cloth to bring back their shine.
Tip: If your metal needles feel a bit dull, rub a little baby powder onto them. It helps smooth them out again – and if your hands tend to get a bit sweaty, baby powder works wonders there, too!

How do I care for bamboo and wooden needles?
If your bamboo or wooden needles start to feel rough, rub them with a few drops of olive oil or coconut oil using a soft cloth.
Tip: If the tips have become blunt over time, you can carefully sand them a little and then oil them as described above. This will keep the wood beautifully smooth and well cared for.
