The Hug Shawl – A Symbol of Hope for mamazone e.V.
The Hug Shawl is more than just a knitting pattern – it is a message of love, comfort, and community.
I designed this shawl to give all women fighting breast cancer a warm, comforting embrace. In collaboration with mamazone e.V., an organization tirelessly dedicated to raising awareness and supporting breast cancer patients, the idea for this project was born. Together, we want to send a message: You are not alone.

The shawl consists of 25 simple-to-knit triangles, made with yarn from Lana Grossa. Each triangle symbolizes a piece of a larger whole – just as we as a community are strong when we stand together. By knitting one or more triangles, you are not only giving your time and creativity, but also offering a piece of hope to a woman going through a difficult time.
Once you have knitted your triangles, send them to mamazone. There, they will be lovingly assembled into a completed shawl. This shawl will then be given to women undergoing chemotherapy. It is more than just a warm accessory – it is a silent hug, a symbol of compassion, reminding the wearer that she is not alone.
