Houdini von Zoe

Houdini by Zoe

Zoe’s version of my Houdini sweater is absolutely swoon-worthy! ✨ Knit in the dreamy Tosh DK from Madelinetosh, it strikes the perfect balance between casual comfort and elegant style. The rich color makes the simple design truly pop – a sweater you won’t want to take off.

It really does feel like magic!

I ended up running out of yarn from my original three skeins JUST where I would want to put the sleeve cuffs in, so I had to run out and buy a 4th to finish. Anyone who likes shorter sleeves could have pulled it off with three skeins, but unless you like really short torsos, I don’t know about doing it with two. It took me two just to finish the body. (And my torso is shorter than I’d like since I was worried about having enough yarn to work the sleeves.)

I also cheated and followed the pattern backwards since bottom-up sweaters and I are sworn enemies. Working it top-down didn’t require too much mental strain, and I’m thrilled with my FO.

Also, this sweater is unblocked. Knowing my bad luck with blocking sweaters, I left it alone for fear it would turn into Swiss cheese. I’m super-satisfied with its fit as-is, it’s so comfortable and looks amazing (if I do say so myself)!
