ITO Kinu, silk with character
Silk does not always have to be smooth and shiny. ITO Kinu shows just how wonderfully lively and relaxed silk can be. The yarn consists of 100% bourette silk, which is produced from the spinning waste of filament silk. This gives a valuable fiber a second life and a completely new purpose.
Kinu features a wonderfully pleasant touch and a characterful melange appearance that lends a unique depth to the finished fabric. Depending on whether you work it single-stranded or held together with other strands, you can achieve very different effects.
I find Kinu particularly lovely for garments and accessories that look elegant while remaining effortless and suitable for everyday wear. Naturally, it also pairs beautifully with other ITO yarns whenever you want to play with contrasting materials, colors, and textures.
