ITO Shimo, Fine Merino Wool Meets Recycled Silk

ITO Shimo is one of those yarns that reveals its beauty little by little. It combines fine, mulesing-free merino wool from Uruguay with recycled silk, creating not only a wonderfully soft feel, but also a beautiful and distinctive melange effect.

Shimo is spun as an airy woollen-spun yarn on a carriage spinning machine. This traditional spinning technique is one of the most elaborate methods used to create high-quality yarns and gives the yarn its lightweight, voluminous character.

The real magic happens once you start knitting. After washing, ITO Shimo truly comes into its own. The fibers settle into place, the stitch definition becomes even more harmonious, and the finished piece develops more and more character with every wash.

With 22 new colors to choose from, Shimo gives you plenty of possibilities for creating your own color combinations. It also pairs beautifully with other ITO yarns when you want to combine different textures and shades.

A yarn for anyone who loves natural fibers and enjoys watching a knitted piece gradually transform into a true favorite.
