ITO Tategami, Lightweight, Soft, and Wonderfully Unusual

Sometimes a yarn comes along that you simply have to try. ITO Tategami definitely falls into that category for me. It looks unusual, feels surprisingly soft, and brings a character all of its own to your knitting.

Tategami is made from linen-based paper with a cotton core and is processed using a special chenille yarn technique. The result is a fascinating combination of lightness, volume, and wonderfully soft texture. Although the yarn may look slightly rustic at first glance, it feels surprisingly light and comfortable to wear.

I especially love Tategami for summer knits. Its unique structure gives even a simple design an interesting surface without making it feel heavy or dense. And of course, it’s also a lovely choice when you want to add a special detail and give your project a character all its own.
