ITO Wagami, Featherlight Paper Yarn

Light, soft, and a little bit unusual, ITO Wagami is a very special yarn for holding together with other yarns. This untwisted linen-based paper yarn adds hardly any weight to your project, while giving your knitted fabric beautiful texture and a surprising amount of volume.

The incredibly thin paper strip, only about 1 cm wide, is gently folded to create its distinctive look. I especially love using Wagami as a companion yarn when you want a project to stay light and airy, while still adding a little extra texture and character.

It combines beautifully with other ITO yarns, such as ITO Gima 8.5, ITO Kinu, ITO Shio, ITO Niji, or ITO Tsuchi. But Wagami is also fascinating on its own, whether knitted single-stranded or held double or even with more strands.

I recommend gentle hand washing.

I carefully select every yarn to make sure it’s a great match for my designs and a joy to knit with. Quality always comes before quantity, so you can be sure that every fiber has been chosen with care.

My patterns and kits always specify which yarn works best for the design. And if you’re unsure, I’m happy to help! I want you to enjoy your knitting project from the very first stitch to the very last.

Can I buy the yarns separately?

Of course! Some of the yarns are available individually in my shop, so you can create your project exactly the way you envision it.
